What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is also known as “trance.” Trance is a natural state of mind. Studies show that watching television late at night puts a person into a trance state. Unfortunately, infomercials and food commercials take advantage of this television induced trance and we often end-up eating when we should not.
Hypnosis at our center will make use of this trance state to give you control over your mind, body, emotions and behaviors. You’ll start producing the results you want in any area of life.

Am I aware of what’s going on around me while I’m hypnotized?

Yes. You are quite consciously aware of everything happening around you, just as you would at any other time.

Is Hypnosis Dangerous?

This is a question that frequently comes up. The answer is no. Why? Hypnosis is safe because hypnosis is a completely natural state of mind. If you have daydreamed you have been in a mild hypnotic trance.
No one can ever get “stuck” in a trance; it’s not possible. Hypnosis is considered by many to be the safest of all methods for losing weight, quitting smoking and even reducing pain.

What does it feel like to be hypnotized?

The response most often heard from clients is “Wow, I’m so relaxed.” It feels like a very pleasant dreamlike state. You will enjoy it. Plus, hypnosis is considered by Harvard University’s MindBody Medical Clinic to be one of the nonpharmacologic methods successful at reversing the stress response. The stress response is implicated in 75% of visits to a medical clinic. What this means to you is that every time you experience hypnosis you are getting much healthier.

Who can be hypnotized?

The answer is that anyone can be hypnotized except someone who is heavily intoxicated, of significantly low intelligence or unwilling to cooperate. Otherwise, anyone who wishes to participate can be hypnotized!
